Growing up in Greensboro, Michael’s dad worked on State Street and he has many fond memories of visiting the small shops located there. Throughout high school and college he developed an interest in the jewelry business while selling flea market finds online. Mark Holder’s jewelry store on State Street was a convenient place for Michael to take repairs and the expert jeweler was quick to share his immense knowledge of the jewelry world with a young entrepreneur. Mark was also kind enough to write a letter of recommendation for Michael’s coursework through the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) where he gained valuable expertise in precious gemstones and diamonds. Following Mark’s retirement, we made the little shop on State Street our home away from home and began to dream about building Greensboro’s premiere diamond destination.
After nine years on State Street, the business grew to be one of the largest jewelry stores in the Triad and this necessitated a move. In the fall of 2024, we were thrilled to move to our new location at 2412 Battleground Avenue. While our location has changed, our values and commitment to quality have remained the same. Our carefully cultivated industry connections and internet savvy allow us to find a wide selection of vintage, estate, and new jewelry at an incredible value and pass that value on to our clients. Our staff have the skills and tools to provide expert repair and custom design on site and we love helping people find or create that unique piece to commemorate a special occasion.
We set out to create a jewelry store where we would want to shop, a store with a low-pressure, friendly atmosphere for all your jewelry, watch and repair needs. That is why we are proud to have been voted Best Jewelry Store in the Triad several times over by readers of News & Record and Yes! Weekly, but our true joy is in reading reviews from our customers. We go above and beyond to ensure every customer feels seen and welcomed in our store whether we are repairing a ring passed down from your grandmother or finding the perfect 5ct diamond for your engagement ring upgrade. Every customer and every piece of jewelry is part of a bigger story and we’re grateful to be a part of it.
